Domain names in non-Latin

The internet had been developed more then 40 years ago, but still not support the domain name in non-Latin character. But now the proposal of non-Latin domain is in final stages. The meeting is on 30th October 2009. If the meeting got success then non-Latin domain name is available after 20Novermber.

I thing this is very difficult to handle the major language character e.g. Arabic,Spanish and the work on back end is the same to map the domain name to the IP address.
